The Reverse Engineering group @ LSL

The Reverse Engeenering group plays a key role in our product development process. We work closely with our Reverse Engineering, Formulation and Regulatory Affairs colleagues in a lean project management approach. Our role is to fulfil generate and review product characterization data to meet the requirements for new product approval dossiers being submitted to EU and South American markets.

As Reverse Engineering scientist, you will be responsible for key deliverables, fundamental to the company’s long-term portfolio development strategies in European and global markets.

What the Role involves

• Project lead of assigned reverse engineering projects.
• Development of LC and GC analytical methods for identification and quantitation of co-formulants in complex matrices using an array of techniques and detectors.
• Interpretation of LC/MS and GC/MS data to identify ingredients in multicomponent formulations.
• Performing quantitative analyses of co-formulants in multi-component formulations.
• Evaluation of laboratory data and preparation of reports in a time efficient manner, providing recommendations or conclusions as appropriate.
• Reverse engineering representative on cross functional teams.
• Working as part of a wider R&D team to solve technical challenges as they may arise.

Ideal Profile for the Role
• Recognized 3rd level scientific qualification, ideally minimum degree level 2.1 with at least 3 years of relevant experience. A relevant advanced degree (MSc or PhD) would be an advantage.
• An excellent scientific aptitude together with an excellent knowledge of chromatographic analysis.
• Proven technical ability in the laboratory.
• Experience working with Empower and/or Mass Hunter software, while not essential, will be an advantage.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative, identify problem root causes and develop solutions.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work as part of a high performing team to achieve common goals to tight timelines.
